We shall return at MacArthur Landing Memorial Park, Palo, Leyte!

Is it real…is it real???? Yes, it is. We didn’t imagine that we were able to visit one of the significant places here in the Philippines.

Last March 2016, part of our Leyte travel we set our foot to visit MacArthur Park or also known as Leyte Landing Memorial Park. Based on the history this was declared as a national park on July 12, 1997 through Letter of Instructions under the presidency of Ferdinand Marcos.

A life size statue of MacArthur and his associates will welcome you on this park. They are seven in a total count that is made of bronze. The statues become iconic and mark the spot where MacArthur fulfilled his promise of “I shall return”.

During our visit we never let any seconds not to take a picture with the troops (the statues!!!) hahaha. The feeling was really fulfilling because we are in the place where we can see only in the stamps or historic cards.

They are so much about this place and we hope you’re able to put it on your travel list. Thank You for reading more travel blog soon 🙂

From Tacloban Airport, it would take another eight (8) minutes drive for 6 kilometers to get to the park via SSS. There are also public utility vehicles which would take the tourists to this point. (Source: Wikipedia)
